This spring, the Jenkintown Borough Shade Tree Commission will again offer a variety of shade trees free of charge to borough property owners who are willing to plant and care for the trees in front of their homes and businesses.

Bare-root trees are much lighter and easier to plant than balled and burlapped trees of similar size. Shade Tree Commission members will help you select the best tree for your location and can assist with planting if needed. Care instructions are distributed with each tree at the time of pick-up.

A number of trees have been allocated for backyards where front-yard planting is not possible.
